{"id":18390,"date":"2023-11-23T12:01:08","date_gmt":"2023-11-23T11:01:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tyr\/miloamerge\/uncategorized\/mecenat-miloa-pacuare-reserve\/"},"modified":"2023-11-23T12:23:20","modified_gmt":"2023-11-23T11:23:20","slug":"mecenat-miloa-pacuare-reserve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/miloa.eu\/en\/news-en\/mecenat-miloa-pacuare-reserve\/","title":{"rendered":"Patronage Miloa &#8211; Pacuare Reserve"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><span style=\"color: #d61163;\">La Pacuare Reserve is located in the north of Costa Rica on the Caribbean coast.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>It includes 700 hectares of tropical rainforest saved at the last minute from fierce deforestation for the benefit of banana cultivation, by an English naturalist, John Denham, in 1989.<\/p>\n<p>It is a private reserve of 6 km of wild beach and is a crucial point of global biodiversity. It contains just over 2,500 species of plants and animals in their natural habitat, including the jaguar, the Agami heron, the sloth, the leatherback, green and hawksbill sea turtles which come to lay their eggs in complete safety on its beach.<\/p>\n<p>It is a model of conservation and preservation of wildlife. It is part of the EPI (Ecology Project International), an organization for the protection, study and education of natural environments, which also includes the Yellowstone Park in the USA.<\/p>\n<p>La Pacuare Reserve raises awareness among the local population about the protection and respect of their environment through school and teacher visits. It also trains researchers and young people from around the world by involving them in its scientific research. <\/p>\n<p>Miloa financially supports this reserve so that it can continue its activities.
