Created by the doctor of veterinary medicine Vanessa Fuks and her daughter Ryanne who is an accomplished rider and follower of ethological methods, this rehabilitation center is a small agricultural operation of 30 hectares located in a French mountainous region, in Usson en Forez, at the junction of the Loire, Haute-Loire and Puy-de-Dôme.
In this Eden, breeding horses “downgraded” by the intensity of their career are welcomed with love or should we rather say saved from certain death. They find with Vanessa and Ryanne a refuge for a well-deserved retirement or rehabilitation following an injury or accident. The center mainly welcomes injured racehorses, in partnership with the association “Au-delà des Pistes” (Beyond the Tracks). The resident horses are in the meadow during summer time and are free indoor during winter time.
The farm has a hospitalization box, a treatment room and a quarantine unit. The horses receive local feed and fodder as desired. Animals live in groups. Their ethological and physiological needs are respected and each resident horse benefits from individual monitoring. Young and old horses are mixed, in order to recreate a herd spirit in complete safety. They are free and cared for.
Miloa supports this great project and has been a partner of Rehab Ranch since January 2024.
