Miloa supports Veterinarians without Borders

VSF is a non-profit organization founded in 1985 by three young Belgian veterinarians, revolted by the famine in Africa.

VSF aims to promote animal health and family farming on the African continent. VSF provides small herds to the populations. VSF allows them to raise their livestock in good sanitary conditions, so that they can feed themselves and earn their living. As the saying goes, « Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish, he will feed himself all his life ».

VSF provides vaccination and care for herds as well as training for veterinarians and breeders. VSF is active in eight countries:

  • Burkina Faso ;
  • Mali ;
  • Niger ;
  • Burundi ;
  • Democratic Republic of Congo ;
  • Uganda ;
  • Rwanda ;
  • Tanzania.

The organization is active in microcredits, water and fodder management and the supply of agricultural equipment. The association also assists populations in emergency aid, peace talks and political advocacy. Because Miloa shares the values conveyed by VSF, Miloa supports their actions and is grateful to them for placing the veterinarian in a humanitarian role, at the center of animal and human health.
