Veterinarian Without Borders – One Health in South Kivu

Quick reminder: Veterinarian Without Borders is a non-profit organization founded in 1985 by three young Belgian veterinarians, outraged by the famine raging at the time in Africa. Miloa has been a donor partner of Veterinarian Without Borders since 2020. Miloa shares the values conveyed by Veterinarian Without Borders and supports their action. Miloa is grateful to them for placing the veterinarian in a humanitarian role, at the center of animal and human health.

There is a very close link between the health of humans, animals and the environment in which they live. This is why Veterinarian Without Borders is a pioneer and fervent defender of the principles of One Health. It is a multidisciplinary approach that examines health aspects related to people, animals and the environment from different angles. We therefore never approach one aspect of health without taking into account the others.

Following a visit by journalist Sophie Devillers at the end of May to South Kivu, La Libre Belgique (a Belgian daily newspaper) published a series of 3 articles dedicated to the Kahuzi-Biega National Park, where we are fighting through our One Health project to avoid another pandemic.
